Marge Simpson has made quite a headline earlier this month when the picture of her covering Playboy magazine was revealed. Now that the issue has come out, the pictures featured in the centerfold of the adult magazine are making their rounds, exposing her in sultry poses involving donuts and the shadow of her beloved husband, Homer.

Like other live models, “The Simpsons” character is required to do an interview and fill a data sheet. She is particularly annoyed when asked to mention her birth date and weight, writing down “nosy!” and “very nosy!”. Marge is also turned off by “slim men who work out and take care of their bodies”.

Marge’s Playboy appearance is part of the show’s 20th anniversary. On Sunday, October 18 at Barker hangar in Santa Monica, California, the voice cast, crew and even the Simpsons were out to celebrate the milestone. Producer Al Jean made time to comment on Marge’s Playboy cover, saying “Well, I talked to Marge today. She’s a little embarrassed. She wanted people to know the photo is Photoshopped. It’s really the body of Wilma [of 'The Flintstones'].”

Star Trek” actor George Takei added, “It is hilarious. [The Playboy spread] is the kind of thing that makes ‘The Simpsons’ a perennial. It’s going to live long and prosper.”

However, not everybody is pleased with Marge shedding her clothes. American Family Association is projecting their protests to 7-Eleven for stocking the magazines while youngsters are in and out of the stores to get hot dogs or Slurpee. The magazines, in fact, have been wrapped in a way that those who don’t purchase can’t see the cover.

On Sunday night we were treated to the annual Halloween special of The Simpsons which is now up to the “Treehouse of Horror XX.”  Yeah, nothing makes us feel older than seeing two XX’s after that title.

Luckily, The Simpsons proved that twenty Halloween specials were not too many and the episode proved to be a fantastic one.  The episode was broken into three stories: “Dial ‘M’ for Murder,” “Don’t Have a Cow, Mankind,” and “The Musical.”

Our personal favorite was the second, in which the town of Springfield became zombies and the Simpsons had to protect Bart when they found out he was the cure.

Here’s just some of our favorites from the episode:

Homer Simpson: Lighten up ladies, it’s not cheating if you’re wearing a costume

Principal Skinner: Lisa Simpson in detention? My horoscope told me I’d see something interesting today, but I thought that’d be the horoscope itself

Lisa: Apu, how did you survie?
Apu: Well, as a vegetarian, I did not consume any tainted meat and as a convenience store owner, I am armed to the teeth

Marge: I can’t kill her, she’s Lisa’s god mother
Apu: You can apologize in hell
Marge: I guess I could!

Marge: What kind of civilized people eat the body and blood of their savior?
[camera pans to Reverend Lovejoy...]

Kang: This is the best musical I’ve sene in lightyears
Kodos: Light years measure distance, not time!

Homer: Marge, can you still love a man that’s half beer?
Marge: I always have

The episode begins with Marge and the ladies enjoying “crazy bowling” — a game Marge found on the internet after searching the phrase “Girls Having Fun” and then having to sift through thousands of porno sites.  While at the bowling alley, the women realize there are no men and assume, since they are men, they are either at the bars or at a baseball game.  But no, the men are watching their favorite new sport — the Ultimate Punch Kick and Choke Championships (UPKCC).  In addition, all of the boys also become obsessed with fighting — creating their own fighting area at school.  Bart and Nelson are in the middle of a match when Marge catches them (Homer is already there to cheer on Bart), and Marge, of course, wants to then ban UPKCC.

Marge shows the other women of Springfield some footage from the Ultimate Punch Kick and Choke Championships and thus persuades them to protest the sport with her.  Marge even has Homer on her side (after bribing him with a whole Black Forrest Cake).  When Marge and the ladies go to the fight to protest, Marge decides to go down onto stage during the show to make it known that she is against such violence and that that the sport’s founder, Chet Englebrit (voiced by real life UFC Fighter Chuck Liddell) should close it down and give all proceeds to charity.  Chet agrees only if Marge fights him and wins.

When Homer and the family witness Marge preparing for the fight only by doing rhythmic dancing, they decide to get her some help from some professional fighters.  They first turn to Springfield ’s Diedrick Tatum where she learns boxing skills.  She next goes to Mr. Burns who was an “ether-weight” back in his wrestling days at Yale, then to Springfield’s local Karate master, and lastly to Jimbo and the bullies.

Marge is trained and ready to fight Chet, but everyone in Springfield is convinced and worried that she is going to get hurt.  Marge enters the ring with Chet and is immediately punched to the ground. Bart wants to stick up for his mom so he enters the ring to fight. When Marge sees Chet hurting her son, she “opens up a can of whoop-tooshie” on Chet and takes him down. Marge begins to tell everyone how she is happy that she won and the place will no longer be around for people to watch senseless fighting, however, her impassioned plea falls on deaf ears as already everyone has left the building to watch a fight between two spectators in the parking lot.

At the end the episode, after everyone else has already left the arena, Bart asks Lisa if she would like to end their long sibling rivalry in the ring…Lisa accepts and knocks Bart to the ground. I love the girl power in this episode!

Highlights in this episode:

  • Nelson confessing to Marge that he wants to become an event planner someday.
  • Marge stating “Call me a killjoy, but I think that because this is not to my taste, no one else should be able to enjoy it.”
  • Bart, mad at Marge for getting rid of fighting, saying “Fighting means to me, like you having babies means to you”
  • Chet — upon seeing Marge entering the arena at the UPKCC - “That woman has natural breasts! This can’t be good.”
  • Chet calling Marge a MILF (Mom I’d Like to Fight)
  • Marge’s impressive ribbon spelling while doing rhythmic dancing
  • Mr. Burns in his Yale wrestling get-up, playing “Boolah Boolah”
  • Jimbo’s punching bag consisting of Martin and Principal Skinner zipped up inside

The latest girl to shed her clothes for the Playboy magazine cover is none other than Marge Simpson. Previously only a rumor, it has developed into a serious one as TMZ has obtained its cover. The cartoon character from FOX’s long-running series “The Simpsons” appears naked on the November issue cover, sitting on a bunny chair that hardly conceals her curves.

Back in August, Hugh Hefner himself has posted a tease of this stint, writing “Marge Simpson has a surprise for her fans in the November issue of Playboy.” A report from E! Online emerged to reveal more details. Marge will be featured in a three-page pictorial complete with an interview and a data sheet.

The November issue comes in celebration of the cartoon’s 20th anniversary. It will also include a tribute to Farrah Fawcett, an interview with Benicio Del Toro and a feature about “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan.

The Simpsons” has been renewed for two further seasons, making it a potentially the longest-running primetime series on TV after “Gunsmoke“.

On last night’s episode of The Simpsons, Bart and his class got annoyed when Mrs. Krabappel stole their cell phones.  So what’s the natural solution?  Get her drunk, of course!

When Bart slipped a little alcohol in her morning coffee, he accidentally got her fired.  Bart tried to get Mrs. K back on the right track using a self help book, The Answer.

After that failed, Bart decided to try honesty with Principal Skinner, but in the end, it took the cool substitute teacher, Mr. Vaughn, being a drunk himself to get her job back.  That’s pretty much “Bart Gets a Z” in a nutshell.

Of course, along the way we were treated some of the best of The Simpsons quotes
we’ve heard in awhile.  Here’s some of our favorites:

Nelson [about the school's ancient computer]: My stroked out grandfather has more memory that that thing
Milhouse: How’s he doing?
Nelson: Better, thanks

Lisa: I thought you were studying the Lincoln-Douglas debates?
Bart: You mean the L-man, D-dawg flame wars?

Marge: I’m worried about Mrs Krabappel
Bart: No worries, I heard in the old four square court she was doing great
Lisa: No one even plays four square anymore, they just gossip

Bart: Mrs K, you have to get out of here. When was the last time you washed your hair?
Edna Krabapple: Hmm, two weeks ago…
Bart: Well, that’s better than me, but still, you gotta get out

Bart: I’m a Simpson, and a Simpson never gets up unless he’s tried at least one easy thing

Worst. Interview. Ever. Okay, not really, at all. In fact, as someone who’s grown up with The Simpsons and quotes the show regularly, interviewing Simpsons’ Executive Produce Al Jean was something of a dream come true. Jean has been with The Simpsons since the very beginning, going from writer to show runner to Executive Producer, making him a virtual Simpsons’ encyclopedia.

The day after The Simpsons‘ won their 25th Emmy, Jean and I chatted about the show’s 20th season, if he thinks the never-aging characters grow, and his favorite episode, character and Simpsons catch phrase.

The writers of “The Simpsons” have one actor in mind to fill in the voice of an Israeli tour guide. They have tapped “Borat” and “Bruno” star Sacha Baron Cohen to bring the “pretty angry but funny” character to life in an episode that airs next year.

According to EW, Cohen’s tour guide will meet the dysfunctional family during a church-group trip to the Holy Land. There, Homer gets a ‘Jerusalem Syndrome’ and believes that he is the messiah. The episode is called “The Greatest Story Ever D’ohed” and will air on March 28, 2010 which coincides with Palm Sunday. “So it’ll be a show that all faiths can come together and be offended by,” Executive Producer Al Jean said.

More about what Cohen’s character does in the episode, Jean elaborated “He’s trying to get Marge to give him good grades on the comment card, and she goes, ‘You people are pushy,’ and he goes, ‘What do you mean, you people? You try having Syria for a neighbor! What do you have - Canada?’ ”

The Simpsons“, in its 21st season, will be back on FOX September 27.
